Oftentimes it is useful, or even a requirement, to ensure that an item appears only once in any particular sales order. As JD Edwards creates sales orders only once the OK button is pressed, the data that is used to make up the sales order is held in a cache pending processing to the database. This utility reads through the cache and identifies whether any item for the same transaction date appears more than once. Once a repeated record has been identified (split lines are ignored) the utility will either report the error or optionally, consolidate the lines into one order detail line.
This utility can optionally be used to perform any other "bulk" type maintenance to sales order detail lines prior to the order being (re)written into the database.
