Lead Generation and Business Development Representative

Fusion5 is looking for a vibrant, enthusiastic, and highly motivated business development specialist to join our team preferably in Sydney, but we would consider Melbourne based applications.

We need a true “hunter” with a proven track record of identifying, nurturing and qualifying prospects to help create opportunities for our Corporate Performance Management (CPM) Sales Professionals to close.

You’ll be expected to build programmatic, multi-touch engagement plans with your prospective audiences, utilising email, phone, LinkedIn, and in-person contact, that offer value, build credibility, and stimulate demand. There will also be opportunities to network, attend events, and create your own campaigns, with the support of marketing, to help you convert cold contacts to hot leads!

The role:

While this role will be very autonomous, you’ll be supported by a highly experienced BDR Team Leader, Sales Manager, Sales Team, and the Marketing Team. You’ll be expected to:

  • Research your target audiences, as well as their industries, and engage them with compelling content that lead to meaningful sales conversations
  • Understand the value proposition behind Fusion5’s solutions and services, and be able to articulate this to different roles and personas, across a range of industries
  • Engage in meaningful business conversations with key decision makers and stakeholders, demonstrating your understanding of their unique industry challenges, and the benefits of overcoming them
  • Follow up Marketing Qualified Leads with probing conversations that help us learn more about a prospect’s business, their emotional and commercial drivers, and ultimately, their drivers for change
  • Produce a pipeline of well-qualified opportunities for our Sales Team, with as many Budget, Authority, Need, Time (BANT) criteria as possible

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A commercial appreciation of the impact of CPM solutions such as Workday Adaptive Planning, IBM Planning Analytics, Blackline, or similar solutions
  • Proven demand and lead generation experience, as well as a flair for ‘creative conversation starters’
  • A programmatic, multi-channel, multi-touch approach to build relationships and identify buying intent signals
  • Confidence using a range of tools to research and reach target audiences, and the ability to monitor engagement to trigger the next touch in the prospecting journey
  • Good discipline around CRM data logging, as well as healthy respect and appreciation for good data hygiene
  • Proven history in successfully reaching or exceeding targets/KPIs
  • The ability to identify a range of influencers within a business, and connect with all of them to create an holistic prospecting framework
  • The confidence to ask for a Sales Meeting – and get it!
  • A confident, polite, and professional manner, with an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to carry senior and executive level conversations that demonstrate value to the prospect, and asking the right questions to build rapport
  • A hunger to learn about our business, our solutions, and the industries of our prospective customers.
