Fusion5 is looking for a Payroll Processing Consultant to join our team in a full-time capacity based in Melbourne CBD. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in contributing to the expansion of an extremely successful fast-growing company.
The Role:
As a Payroll Processing Consultant, you will play a key role in our Payroll Services team. You will be responsible for high-quality end-to-end payroll processing for outsourced payroll and hosted bureau customers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for various employers, encompassing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls; using EmpowerHR, PayGlobal, Jade Star, Jemini or Infinet Cloud payroll systems
  • Peer Checking maintenance work for team members
  • Review Internal and external SOPs for clients
  • Assist with other tasks across the business area not limited to processing e.g., checking parallel pay runs and related reports
  • Providing a high level of customer service to employers in Australia and New Zealand
  • Assisting with month-end processing including administration of superannuation, payroll tax payments, and Tax & Leave reconciliations
  • Flexibility to work in different time zones (Australia/New Zealand) to support our clients.

Our Ideal Candidate is someone who has:

  • Proven 2 to 3 years’ (+) experience in end-to-end payroll processing for medium to large customers employees (300+)
  • Ability to independently manage end-to-end payroll and investigate complex queries
  • Desire to continue to develop skills in payroll
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation and regulations- AU Modern Awards, EBA’s and/or NZ IEA’s, CEA’s/MECA’s, SECA’s
  • Excellent knowledge AU/NZ Taxation, and Superannuation & Kiwi Saver, other AU/ NZ Statutory Deductions
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid working relationships with clients and the team
  • Previous experience using business payroll solutions (EmpowerHR, PayGlobal, Jade Star, or Infinet Cloud Payroll specifically is an advantage, but not essential)
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Outlook, MS Teams, and Excel with intermediate to advanced Excel skills and SharePoint
  • Understanding of the importance of data security
  • Self-motivation, is collaborative, and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.
