SOL Edu is Queensland’s most successful specialist education and migration business. Founded in 2002, the company provides services to international students from around the world, mainly South and North Asia (China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand) and Latin America (Colombia and Brazil).
To best serve their clients, SOL Edu staff members include education counsellors, migration agents, admissions and finance experts, and marketing professionals. Between them, SOL Edu’s team of 70 speak nine languages.
The SOL Edu team guide students from their initial inquiries through to applying for visas and admission to universities throughout Australia. They assist their clients to settle and live in Australia while studying and, once they’ve completed their education, help them navigate the complicated immigration process.
The process of managing immigration and international education admissions is lengthy, complex, detail-oriented and highly specialised.
SOL Edu had been using a number of different solutions to manage their business processes. A lack of integration between their student inquiries and lead information solution, and a student database on AWS, meant that many everyday activities required manual input from staff to access, share and report on data. A lack of modern marketing tools was also a real challenge, and a primary driver for change.

We knew we needed to leverage the opportunities generated through social media, online advertising and our website – so we wanted a solution that would streamline, measure and support our efforts. Intending to open new offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney in 2020 and add a further 40 staff, a new solution was essential to enable and support SOL Edu’s plans.
SOL Edu required a highly customised CRM to cater for its unique business processes, improving and automating its workflows, as well as supporting future expansion.
After much research, the business identified Dynamics 365 CRM as the ideal solution. The platform would enable SOL Edu to achieve all of its business and marketing objectives and, importantly, increase the visibility of its performance as a company while improving student services.
Jung says that selecting a partner was a more difficult decision than choosing a solution.
“It was hard to tell which potential partners were good at what they do, and reliable. However, Fusion5 stood out from the rest due to their positive customer feedback and experience in the education sector, so we engaged them as our partner.”
Fusion5 began work on the project in April 2019 and SOL Edu went live with their new solution in early August of the same year. The project was delivered within budget.
While it’s early days, and SOL Edu are still exploring all of their solution’s capabilities, Jung and Yujin Lee, SOL Edu’s Administration Manager, both commented on how the solution has already transformed their reporting.
“Our old system had very limited reporting capabilities,” says Lee, “and it was difficult to configure any new requirements. Our new Microsoft CRM delivers much better reporting functions. It’s brought about a major improvement as we can now view and analyse all of our business and operating costs far more easily.”
As well as delighting in their new CRM, the SOL Edu team have been very happy with their decision to partner with Fusion5.
